Sturgis tops Lakeview 56-44 in D-1 District Quarterfinals
(STURGIS) -The host Sturgis boys basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat visiting Lakeview 56-44 in a Division 1 District Quarterfinal game. Gavin Lewis led the Trojans with 18 points and 11 rebounds. (LISTEN ABOVE). Lukis Bir had 18 points and 5 assists while Oliver Lamb and Simon Phillips each had 6 points. Lakeview ends the season at 6-16. Sturgis improves to 11-12 and will take on No. 1 seed Kalamazoo Loy Norrix in a semifinal game Wednesday. In the other District opening round game, Coldwater beat Gull Lake 55-53 and will face B.C. Central in the second semifinal game Wednesday.
