(ANGOLA) - A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for all of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio from 7 a.m. Saturday through 7 p.m. Sunday, and forecasters say travel could become very difficult to impossible.
The National Weather Service expects heavy snow, with totals ranging from 8 to 14 inches north of U.S. 24, and 4 to 9 inches south of U.S. 24.
Wind gusts could reach 25 to 35 miles per hour, creating blowing and drifting snow.
The warning covers a wide stretch of counties including LaGrange, Steuben, Noble, DeKalb, Allen, Whitley, Wabash, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Branch, Hillsdale, Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Paulding, Van Wert, and many more across the tri-state.
Officials are urging anyone who must travel to pack emergency supplies -- including a flashlight, food, and water -- and to check road conditions by dialing 511 before heading out.
Again, the Winter Storm Warning runs Saturday morning through Sunday evening, with the heaviest impacts expected late Saturday into early Sunday. Stay safe and stay weather-aware.
