(ELKHART) - A suspect is being held following a suspected drunk driving crash that sent one person to the hospital.
The Elkhart Police Department says they were called to a crash just after 1 AM Sunday near the intersection of Bower Street and North Riverside Drive.
The initial investigation says that the 20 year old victim hit the Sherman Street Bridge. It's unclear whether the passenger was thrown from the vehicle, or if he was getting out of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The passenger was sent to the hospital with a head injury and is listed in stable condition.
The driver was arrested and lodged into the Elkhart County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of leaving the scene of an accident, operating while intoxicated and minor consuming alcohol.
