By: Mike Stiles - Monday, July 15, 2019

(BRANCH COUNTY) – A man that has eluded Michigan State Police for two weeks was arrested on Sunday.

Troopers have been investigating leads on a wanted suspect for multiple felony warrants. They received a tip on Sunday, which led to a pursuit of the wanted suspect from Calhoun County to Branch County.

The suspect abandoned his vehicle in a tree line during the chase, and attempted to rob an elderly woman, demanding the keys to her vehicle. The suspect then fled to another nearby residence and tried to steal a van that was parked in the driveway when he was confronted by troopers.

After a brief fight, the suspect was arrested. Troopers determined the vehicle the suspect was driving was stolen.
