(CENTREVILLE) - Glen Oaks Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Eric Lewis as Head Softball Coach for the Vikings heading into the 2025-26 season. Lewis has spent the past 15 years as the head coach for the Kalamazoo Klash and brings ample leadership, energy and knowledge to the GOCC program. A Vicksburg High School and Olivet College alumnus, Lewis pitched at the college level and had a successful career at Olivet. After college, he competed for 10 years in men’s fastpitch softball and went on to coach for the Klash. He guided teams at every age level, boasting multiple state titles and several top-three finishes at the World Championships. Lewis resides in Vicksburg with his wife, Amy, who will serve as an assistant coach, their two daughters, Payton and Madison, and son, Bo. Payton Lewis will also be an assistant coach on the GOCC staff, while Madison will compete for the Vikings. Former GOCC head coach Matt Weiderman rounds out the coaching staff and will serve as an assistant. Lewis says he sees an opportunity to not only build the program but to also make a difference and offer stability for the student-athletes. He says their core values are character, education and competition, and they will work hard every day in pursuit of each.
