(COLDWATER) – A plea has been entered by a Coldwater man who had a run in with police officers this summer.
Branch County Circuit Court officials say 33 year old Seth Foltz plead guilty Monday to a charge of assaulting, resisting and obstructing a police officer. Three other identical charges were dropped by the Branch County Prosecutor's Office.
Coldwater Acting Director of Public Safety Joe Scheid says in July, Sergeant David Crilly and some other officers were trying to arrest Foltz for not paying fines and court costs. Foltz was on parole after being sentenced in 2017 for larceny.
Fotlz got into a scuffle with Crilly and the other officers, and Crilly suffered a serious ankle injury in the incident.
Scheid says Foltz has a criminal past from incidents in January 2011, including home invasion and unlawful driving away of an automobile.
Foltz will be sentenced on October 21.
