(COLDWATER) – Michigan State Police are investigating the theft of a camper from a Coldwater business.

Troopers say a 17 foot camper was taken from Haylett Auto sometime between 4 AM and 4:50 AM Tuesday. The suspect or suspects took the trailer from the storage lot on Lott Road and U.S. 12. After pulling onto Lott Road, the suspect started traveling east towards Quincy when
the trailer broke loose.

The trailer ended up in the ditch and the suspect left the scene. Troopers say there should be damage to the rear of the truck and tow hitch that was involved in this theft.
