Mendon volleyball wins Regional title
(MARTIN) – The quest for a second straight Division 4 State Championship is still alive for the Mendon volleyball team. The No. 1 ranked Lady Hornets beat No. 3 B.C. St. Philip 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-22) in their Regional Championship match. Anna Smith led Mendon with 16 kills, 15 digs, 5 aces and 3 blocks. Teammate Taylor Heitkamp had 9 kills and 2 blocks. Gracie Russell had 33 assists, 9 digs and an ace while Alexis Ames had 5 kills and 2 blocks. Mendon will take on No. 2 ranked Camden-Frontier in a Division 4 quarterfinal match next Tuesday at Climax-Scotts.
