Wings fall to Kings in OT 3-2
(LOS ANGELES) – Young forwards Alex Iafallo and Adrian Kempe did enough to help the Los Angeles Kings to consecutive wins. Iafallo scored 23 seconds into overtime and the Kings beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Thursday night. Kempe scored with 1:48 remaining in the third period to tie the game at 2-2, and Iafallo got a shot into an open net after Drew Doughty's shot caromed off the boards. Anze Kopitar and a goal and two assists for Los Angeles and Jonathan Quick made 19 saves. Tyler Bertuzzi scored twice for Detroit, who had their three game winning streak snapped. Jonathan Bernier made 28 saves for Detroit, while Anthony Mantha had 2 assists and Dylan Larkin had and assist as well. Mantha has two goals and five assists in a five-game point streak, while Larkin extend his point streak to four games. The Wings announced before the game that defenseman Patrik Nemeth will miss several weeks because of an infection sustained after blocking a shot against Vegas on Sunday.
