Struggle leads to Kendallville officer shooting suspect

KENDALLVILLE – A Kendallville mobile home park was on edge after a police action shooting this morning.

Indiana State Police and Kendallville Police responded around 8 a-m on a reported domestic incident at 1815 Aspen Cove.

A Kendallville Police Officer exchanged gunfire with a man at the residence who was wounded. No officers were injured.

That person was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital by ambulance. We don’t know the seriousness of their injuries. He remained hospitalized Friday afternoon.

City officials went on social media about 90 minutes after the shooting saying the scene was secure and there were no further safety concerns.

Indiana State Police are heading the investigation which will be forwarded to the Noble County Prosecutor for review of possible charges.
