(UNDATED) – The strong winds moving through the area have caused power outages in several locations.

Consumer's Energy says in St. Joseph County there are customers in Sherman Township between M-66 and Rommel Road that are reporting they have no power. In addition, over 560 customers in Leonidas Township are without power.

More Consumers customers are reporting power outages in Branch County. Girard Township and the surrounding area are the hardest hit with over 1,000 customers without electricity. Burlington Township has 575 customers without power; Batavia Township has 428 customers that don't have power and Coldwater Township has 80 customers with out electric service.

In addition, over 600 customers in Athens are without power.

Indiana & Michigan Power says approximately 20 customers in Constantine are currently without power.

Power company officials say the lines are down due to tree limbs that fell because of the wind and took down the power lines near them. Crews are working on restoring power, but it could take several hours, and possibly into Thursday.
