Constantine School Board Appoints Interim Superintendent

(CONSTANTINE) – The Constantine School Board has appointed an interim Superintendent.

During Monday's work session, the Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of John Jarpe to be their interim Superintendent. During a special meeting January 2, the Board interviewed Jarpe and Tom Stobey for the interim position.

Jarpe is a native of Niles and during his career taught in the Detroit Public Schools, then at Niles Brandywine and St. Joseph. He served as the Brandywine Superintendent from 2007 until 2017 before retiring. He recently finished a stint as the interim Superintendent with the Watervliet Schools.

Burgess says he will speak with Jarpe and work out the details of his contract, including when he would be able to start and how much he would be paid.
