(LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured in a one vehicle crash Friday in Cass County's LaGrange Township.

Sheriff's Deputies say 19 year old Terry George III of Dowagiac was driving east on Peavine Road near Oak Grove Street at 10:10 PM. George was not able to negotiate a curve and went off the roadway, striking a tree. The vehicle suffered heavy front end damage.

George and a backseat passenger, 17 year old Ralph Richmond of Dowagiac, suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital to be treated for their injuries. A third passenger, 17 year old Jaden Brown, was not injured.

Deputies say everyone was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are believed to be a factor in the incident, which is still under investigation.
