Hunt Sentenced In Murder Case

(CENTREVILLE) – Sentence has been handed down to an individual involved in the shooting death of a man in Flowerfield Township.

St. Joseph County Circuit Court officials say that 22 year old Tyler McNeil was sentenced to 12 to 60 years in prison after he plead guilty to armed robbery as a second time offender.

McNeil, along with 24 year old Kayla Cheney and 43 year old Theron Hunt tried to sell fake drugs to Kevin Johnson, a truck driver from Kentucky on November 15, 2018. During the incident, a struggle ensued and Cheney accidentally fired the gun and shot Johnson.

Hunt was recently convicted of first-degree murder and Cheney was sentenced to second-degree murder.
