(CENTREVILLE) – The Commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 8 at Glen Oaks Community College have been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Glen Oaks President Dr. David Devier says the school has been holding out on making a decision regarding commencement. But with Governor Whitmer's “Stay Home” order that was issued Monday, it's obvious that Glen Oaks needs to move forward with different plans.

Devier says Glen Oaks recognizes and values the hard work of their students, and commencement is an important part of their college experience. He says they will be providing further details for their graduating students over the next few weeks.
