(BRONSON) – One of the longest running summer festivals in Southern Michigan has been postponed for 2020.

Bronson Polish Festival Council President Candy Cox says after much thought, the 2020 Polish Festival has been canceled, due to the unknown with the COVID-19 pandemic. It's the first time in 50 years the Polish Festival has been canceled.

Cox says the festival is dependent on local businesses and individual support for its success. With so many businesses not knowing what the future holds, the Council decided it wasn't right to ask them for donations and assistance at this time.

Cox says they plan on having a bigger and better festival in 2021. Dates for next years Polish Festival are July 15 through July 18.
