(ANGOLA) – No injuries were reported in a house fire Sunday in Angola.

Angola Fire Chief T.R. Hagerty says his department was called at 8:51 AM to a house fire at the home of Courtney Traster at 419 North Martha Street. Crews arrived and found smoke coming from the front and back second story windows.

Firefighters were able to get into the house and knock down the fire on the second floor. There was heavy smoke damage through the second floor and water damage on the first floor. Several cats were rescued from the home.

Assisting at the scene were the Fremont Fire Department, the Steuben Township Fire Department, the Angola Police Department, the Indiana State Police, Steuben County EMS and NIPSCO Gas.
