(INDIANAPOLIS) – Increased testing for COVID-19 in Indiana has many benefits.

That was part of the message by Dr. Kristina Box, Indiana State Health Commissioner, during a press conference Monday afternoon. ...... {LISTEN}.

Box says Indiana has been doing contact tracing for over 100 years for many different diseases, such as measles, mumps and HIV. She says contact tracing has to be done. ...... {LISTEN}.

Box says contact tracing consists of several questions asked to individuals who test positive for COVID-19. They include such questions as: When did your symptoms start? Who have you been in contact with? Have you gone to work or to school?

By testing and asking these questions, Box says Indiana can take a bigger step in helping to slow down the spread of COVID-19 around the Hoosier State.
