AUBURN, IN - A Semi rollover crash closed down a portion of southbound I-69 early Sunday morning.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says a semi collided with an abandoned 2004 Chevy Suburban on the shoulder of I-69 southbound near the 323 mile marker. Reports indicate the semi was carrying packages of Ice Mountain bottled water.
The semi driver, identified as Charles E. Holtz of Grand Rapids, MI, sustained minor scrapes and pains.
Pictures from the accident scene show packages of water in bottles scattered all over the roadway. DeKalb County Sheriff Sergeant Matthew J. Tamez said the southbound lanes of I-69 were closed for nearly two hours.
The incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Assisting the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department was the Auburn Fire Department, DeKalb County Homeland Security, Parkview DeKalb, and Parker’s.
