50 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Southern Michigan

(UNDATED) – There were 50 new cases of COVID-19 and another death in Southern Michigan over the weekend.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says the death happened in St. Joseph County, where 4 people have now died. There were also 18 new cases of COVID-19, making 269 people who have tested positive.

In Branch County, 29 new cases of coronavirus was detected. 243 people have the virus and there have been 2 deaths. There were 2 new cases in Hillsdale County. 182 people have now tested positive and 25 people who have died.

The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. That makes 39 staff members and 793 inmates who have tested positive. There have also been 23 inmate deaths.

In Cass County, there was 1 new case of COVID-19. There are now 121 people who have the virus and 4 people who have died.

Across Michigan, there are now 63,261 coronavirus cases and 5,911 people who have died from the virus.
