(LAGRANGE TOWNSHIP) – The Cass County Sheriff's Department is searching for a person who left the scene of a crash.

Sheriff Richard Behnke says his department was called to a two vehicle crash just after 11 AM Monday in LaGrange Township. Investigators says 74 year old Penny Michkiewicz of Cassopolis was on M-62 and stopped to turn onto Dutch Settlement Road when she was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The driver of that second vehicle ran away from the scene.

Michkiewicz was injured in the crash and taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital by Pride Care Ambulance. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident. Also helping at the scene was the Pokagon Tribal Police.

The other driver has not been located. If anyone has information on this individual, they are asked to call the Cass County Sheriff's Department at 269-445-8644.
