(ANGOLA) – An airplane made a difficult landing Saturday afternoon in Northeast Indiana.

The plane was able to execute a hard landing at the Steuben County Airport, just west of Angola. It appeared the aircraft sustained sizable damage to the craft's right side, including a bent wing.

Reports indicate two people were on board the small, private plane during the incident. Those individuals escaped without serious injuries, and reportedly took themselves to a local hospital to be checked out.

At this time it is not known why the plane experienced issues while landing.

The Indiana State Police responded to the scene.
