(PARK TOWNSHIP) – Jack Coleman believes fiscal responsibility is a key to making Michigan great.
Coleman, a resident of Park Township, is one of the five individuals seeking the Republican nomination in the August 4 Primary to run for the 59th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Coleman served in the United States Navy for 20 years and is also a former business owner. His is also a member of the Park Township Planning Commission and the Park Township Board of Review. Coleman says these, along with other experiences, gives him a common sense approach to handle difficult financial decisions. He has experience in operating budgets, working with various government agencies and he is aware of the influence government has on business finances and those of individuals.
Coleman says he is not accepting any money from Political Action Committees during his campaign. He says when you accept money from special interest groups, it can influence elected officials in a way that is not consistent with the voters.
Coleman says if he is elected, he would like to work to help reform the mental health system. He says the State Legislature needs to address State unfunded mandates, which place a financial burden on local communities and townships.
