By: Mike Stiles - Saturday, August 1, 2020

(QUINCY TOWNSHIP) – Two boys were injured when the Amish buggy they were operating was struck by a vehicle.

The Branch County Sheriff's Department says they were called to Briggs Road south of Jonesville Road in Quincy Township at 6 AM Friday. A 24 year old man was driving south and struck a southbound buggy that just pulled out on the road.

A 13 year old boy was driving the buggy. He was flown by West Michigan Air Care to a Kalamazoo hospital. A 9 year old boy that was a passenger in the buggy was operating a light at the time of the accident. He was treated at the scene by Life Care Ambulance.

Deputies did not say if the driver of the vehicle was injured.

Preliminary investigation shows that speed was a factor in the collision. The names of the three individuals have not been released by authorities.
