(HOWARD TOWNSHIP) – One person was injured in a single vehicle crash in Cass County's Howard Township.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says at 11:11 PM Tuesday, 51 year old Brian Grice of Niles was driving his motorcycle west on Lake Shore Drive near Shady Shore Drive when he went off the road and struck a pole.

Grice was taken by the SMCAS Ambulance company to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.

The Howard Township Fire Department and the Michigan State Police assisted deputies at the scene.
