(STURGIS) – It wasn't a normal Homecoming for Sturgis High School.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the regular events and activities for Homecoming were canceled. But the naming of the Court, and the crowning of the King and Queen still happened during halftime of Friday's football game between Sturgis and visiting Dowagiac.

Named the 2020 Homecoming Queen was Amy Chen, and named King was Thomas Kurowski. WBET's Jack Scheske caught up with the newly crowned King and asked Kurowski what he will miss most after graduating from Sturgis High School. Kurowski says he will miss the drives to school with his father each day and the fans coming out to cheer on the basketball team over the last four years.

Scheske asked Chen the same question. She says she will miss the friends she has made from the clubs and organizations she has joined while at SHS.

In the Homecoming game, Sturgis lost to Dowagiac 12-0.
