(COLDWATER) – A sentence of 23 months to 5 years in jail has been handed down to a former Quincy resident for violating his probation.
Branch County Circuit Court officials say 32 year old Thomas Stump was given the sentence after he plead guilty to two counts of attempted second degree criminal sexual conduct.
Stump was arrested on October 4, 2019 in Texas on a warrant that was issued by the Quincy Police Department. The warrant was for charges of second degree of criminal sexual conduct that happened between December 2017 and April 2018. At that time, Stump allegedly touched the two daughters of his then girlfriend, who were both under the age of 13.
While in jail, officials say Stump made video calls to his girlfriend, and the two exposed themselves to each other. During sentencing, Stump claimed that the charges of probation violation were lies made up by his then girlfriend.
