(LIMA TOWNSHIP) – A traffic stop lead to the arrest of an Elkhart woman on drug related charges.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office says a deputy performed a routine traffic stop Saturday on a vehicle in the area of County Road 300 East and State Road 120. During the stop, a police K-9 officer performed a free air sniff of the vehicle, and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Officers performed a probable cause search, and found that a passenger in the vehicle, Brenda Pettyjohn of Elkhart, was in possession of a hypodermic needle as well as drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken to the LaGrange County Jail.
The LaGrange Police Department assisted with the search of the vehicle.
