Drugged Driving Enforcement Goes Well

(THREE RIVERS) – It was a busy Saturday afternoon for some area law enforcement agencies.

The Three Rivers Police Department, the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police Southwest Enforcement Team conducted a directed patrol along U.S. 131 from 12 until 4 PM. They were specifically targeting possible drugged driving individuals.

Officers conducted 49 traffic stops, issued 36 citations, arrested 7 suspects and had four K-9 deployments. Arrests included methamphetamine possession, illegally carrying concealed handguns, operating under the influence of drugs, outstanding warrants and other miscellaneous traffic
offenses.

Officers located a large amount of drugs, including meth, suboxone, oxycodone, open alcohol containers, illegal handguns and a stolen vehicle.
