(UNDATED) – Saturday evening's thunderstorms have left many people in the dark.

Power outages have been reported all around the listening area due to the storms. In St. Joseph County, Midwest Energy Cooperative says they have just over 1,000 customers without power. The majority of them are in the White Pigeon area with 643 are without service. In Constantine 429 are without electricity and 44 in Three Rivers.

Crews are out attempting to restore power. No time line has been given for when customers will have their electricity restored.

Branch County was hit hard as well with power outages. Approximately 3,200 customers are without electricity. Bronson and areas to the east along with south of Coldwater in Kinderhook and California Townships are the hardest hit.

According to the Comsumer's Energy website, restoration will occur between 3 and 11:30 PM, depending on how quickly crews can removed downed trees and get lines back up and operational.

According to the City of Coldwater, there power issues are from a transmission line that is maintained by Consumer's Energy. Consumer's says they are working on the problem and hope to have power back to Coldwater City residents between 4 and 6 PM Sunday.

The City of Coldwater is reminding their electric customers to keep your refrigerators and freezers closed to preserve food. Also, limit your water use and turn off and unplug all unnecessary electrical equipment.
