No. 15 Michigan women beat Illinois 70-50

(ANN ARBOR) - The No. 15 ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team remained perfect after grabbing a 70-50 victory over Illinois to close out its two-game homestand Sunday at Crisler Center. The Wolverine held Illinois to just three points in the second quarter. Junior Naz Hillmon earned her seventh double-double of the season, scoring a team-best 24 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, while senior Akienreh Johnson added 17 points and nine boards. Junior Amy Dilk put together a double-digit outing with 11 points and added nine rebounds and five assists. Michigan outrebounded Illinois, 44-34. U-M started slow, turning the ball over five times before Hillmon scored a quick five points to give Michigan a 13-12 advantage with 1:43 remaining in the opening quarter. With the win, Michigan improves to 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the Big Ten. Illinois is now 2-6 and 0-5 in the conference.
