(EMMA) - Some students at Westview Schools are taking the initiative to support efforts to fight hunger.
Art students from the school corporation are collaborating with LaGrange County Hope and LaGrange County Arts to do the "Just One Bowl" fundraiser. Westview third and fourth grade along with High School art students are joining with students from other schools along with community members to make and decorate ceramic bowls for the event.
The bowls will be available this Saturday, January 17 for a soup dinner that will be held at the LaGrange County Fairgrounds. Dinner and desserts will be served from 4 PM until 8 PM. All of the food is being donated by local businesses and restaurants.
Event organizers say all proceeds will be used to support local programs aimed at battling food insecurity, making the evening both a showcase for the creativity of the artists and a meaningful way to give back to the community.
