(CENTREVILLE) - Sentence has been handed down to a woman charged with criminal sexual conduct.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor Deborah Davis says 34 year old Kaitlyn Sand of Three Rivers was sentenced Friday to five to 15 years in prison after she plead no contest on two felony counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct in St. Joseph County Circuit Court.

By entering into the plea, several felony charges against Sand were dropped including two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of tampering with evidence in a criminal case.

Sand was arrested in September following a Mendon Police Department investigation after she allegedly sexually assaulted two minor victims between February and April 2023. Investigators say Sand met the victims through her job as a contract employee in the food service department at Mendon Jr/Sr. High School. She also allegedly used several social media platforms to contact the victims repeatedly.
