(STURGIS) - The new contract for curbside recycling in Sturgis is starting today.

Sturgis City Manager Andrew Kuk says there has been some confusion about the dates for curbside recycling. The new contract calls for pick up every two weeks for each residence. While the City hoped to begin this new cycle in February, Kuk says Borden is starting right away.

The north side of Sturgis will have pick up today.

The south side of the city will have their pick up on Thursday February 5.

Kuk says this pick up schedule is different from years past as there will be a pick up on the fifth Thursday of the month, making this a true every other week pick up schedule. Please make sure you check the calendar for your pick up dates.

You can also view the schedule for your specific address on Borden's website, which is bordenwasteaway.com.

Kuk says the City apologizes for the confusion. If you have any questions you can call Borden at 800-386-3313.
