(ELKHART COUNTY) - Authorities have released the identity of a woman who was shot and killed last week.
The Elkhart County Coroner's Office says the victim is 28 year old Dakota Barnes. She was shot and killed outside of a home in the 29,000 block of County Road 16 early on the morning of November 14. Her death is being ruled as a homicide.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says a man shot Barnes multiple times and then shot himself in the head. The shooter is in critical condition at an Elkhart Hospital.
The matter is still under investigation.
