Sturgis girls track team sweeps home Tri-meet
(STURGIS) - The host Sturgis girls track team swept a home Wolverine Conference tri-meet, beating Vicksburg 82-55 and Plainwell 92.5-44.5. Berkley Holtz took first place in the 800 meters and the 1600 meters. She was also part of the winning 3200 meter relay, as the Lady Trojans swept all four relay events. Angela Cary was first in the high jump and was on the winning 400 meter relay team while Tessa Hatt won the 3200 meters and was on the 3200 meter relay team. Julie Mendoza-Rangler was first in the 100 meters and also a part of the 1600 meter relay team.
Sturgis boys split home track Tri-meet
(STURGIS) - The Sturgis boys track team hosted a Wolverine Conference tri-meet and went 1-1, beating Plainwell 71-66 and losing to Vicksburg 86.5-50.5. Caleb Hohn took first in the 200 meters, and the 400 meters and was also part o the winning 800 meter relay team with Jason Stutzman, Drake Fisher and Beckett Lamb. Stutzman, Fisher, Lamb and Lukis Bir won the 400 meter relay. Lamb was first in the long jump and Wyatt Miller won the pole vault.
