(SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP) - A Colon woman was involved in a two vehicle crash in Northeast Indiana.
The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office says 80 year old Clara Payne of Colon was driving her Dodge Caravan south on State Road 3 at 8:14 Tuesday morning and failed to yield at the intersection of U.S. Highway 20. Payne pulled in front of a westbound SUV and the vehicles collided.
Payne was removed from her vehicle by first responders and was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne to be treated for chest pain and other injuries.
Three passengers in her vehicle, Leah Hochstetler, Martha Hochstetler and a one year old child, were all taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV, 43 year old Seth Overmyer of Cecil, Ohio was not injured.
Everyone was wearing their safety belts.
The Mongo and Stroh Fire Departments and Parkview EMS assisted at the scene.
