(BRONSON) - Work is starting today to renovate Bronson High School's outside athletic complex.

A ceremonial groundbreaking was held April 24 to launch the $2.4 million project. It will include replacing the six lane track inside Charles Hilton Field with an eight lane metric track. The new track will allow Bronson to once again host MHSAA sanctioned league along with post-season track meets.

This is the first step of a $29.9 million bond proposal that was approved in November 2025.

In addition to the new track, the project will include a regraded field, LED lighting along with an improved and more accessible parking lot.

Due to the scope of the project, Bronson's football team will not play any home games in the 2026 season. Instead, their home games will be played at Sturgis, Union City and Coldwater High Schools, in addition to some of the Bronson boys soccer games.
