(LAGRANGE) -The LaGrange County Community Foundation has awarded $48,000 in Community Impact Grants.

They were awarded during Cycle 1 of the Foundation's competitive grant program in April.

The LaGrange County 4-H Association received $15,000 to support renovations to restroom facilities at the fairgrounds. It will also help cover the costs of a new water heater, flooring, shower fixtures and baby changing tables.

A grant of $25,000 will support the GO Foundation as it launches GO Explore Childcare & Preschool this Fall. It's a daycare and preschool program located at the LaGrange County Innovation Center in LaGrange. It will create a high-quality, inquiry-based environment and expand access to safe, engaging care.

Rainbow Years Learning Ministry at Shore Church in Shipshewana received $8,000 for equipment for the daycare's large motor room, providing children with play-based opportunities to stay active and use their energy.

Octavia Yoder, LaGrange County Community Foundation Executive Director says these grants help fuel meaningful projects and program that make a difference in the community. She says from increasing the support for quality childcare to improving local 4-H facilities, the Foundation is proud to support nonprofits that strengthen LaGrange County every day.

These grants are made possible through the generosity of donors who support the Foundation's Caring Community Fund, field of interest funds, and community funds.

Applications will be accepted again for Cycle II on June 25 and Cycle III on September 25. To learn more, visit the Community Foundation's website.
