(BURR OAK) - There's plenty to see and do this weekend at the 2026 Burr Oak Heritage Festival.
Patricia Seeba, Heritage Festival Committee Chairperson, says every year the decide on a theme. This year's is "Burr Oak is an "A-MAIZE-ing" Little Village. It was chosen to capitalize on the area's agricultural scene because of the corn.
Today's events include the parade at 11 AM.
Throughout the day there will be old-fashioned machinery demonstrations at Railroad Park along with food vendors.
Starting at 12 PM will be the firemen hot dog sale and at 1 PM is the adult corn hole tournament. Also at 1 PM is the adult tractor pedal pulls.
The historical Burr Oak tours will get underway at 1 PM.
The corn maze opens at 2 PM along with the mechanical bull rides with a cost of $2 per ride. At 2 PM the mud volleyball tournament starts at Railroad Park.
You can Talk With A Farmer at 3 PM, while at 4 PM the tethered hot air balloon rides begin. Then at 6:30 PM the hot dog eating contest gets underway.
At 8 PM the Port-A-Potty Pulls for youths will start followed at 8:30 PM by the pulls for adults.
DJ Sparxx will be performing starting at 9 PM in the Community Tent. At 9:30 PM the balloon glow will be at the Burr Oak School playground at then there will be fireworks starting at 10 PM.
On Sunday there will be a breakfast at 10 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church and the Community Church Service at 11 AM.
