(CENTREVILLE) - The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office is looking to get a new vehicle for their fleet.
During Tuesday's St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners Executive Committee meeting, Sheriff Chad Spence shared that they are wanting to get an administrative vehicle.
Spence says they are requesting to purchase a Chevy Traverse due to the aging vehicles in the fleet. He says they looked at several options and decided to go with the Enterprise situation to get the vehicle.
The cost of the vehicle itself will be $48,500. It would then have to be outfitted with the proper equipment before it can be active for duty.
The County Commission agreed to put the item on the agenda for the regular Board meeting on August 18.
