(BRADENTON, FL) - A Florida-based retailer is opening stores in Michigan this fall, including Sturgis and Coldwater.

According to The Business Observer, Bealls has announced they will enter Michigan, marking the 23rd state for the company, which has a growth strategy based on broadening its reach and increasing brand awareness.

Bealls CEO Matt Beall says they see a strong fit for the retailer in Michigan and are excited to open their doors in the Wolverine State. He says Michigan gives them the chance to introduce themselves to new guests, serve new communities and increase awareness of the Bealls brand.

Bealls will open their store in Sturgis between November 6 and November 8 in the Sturgis Plaza on South Centreville Road. The Coldwater location will be on East Chicago Road in the former Dunham's Sports building, and will also open between November 6 and November 8.

Bealls will also open stores this fall in Charlotte and Owosso, then in the spring of 2027, they will open stores in Niles and Clio.

The Michigan stores are expected to average approximately 20,000 square feet. They will provide family apparel, footwear, accessories, home décor, housewares, gifts and seasonal products. They will feature new merchandise arriving daily, including national and exclusive brands.

Bealls, which has been family-owned for 111 years, operates more than 650 stores across 22 states under the names Bealls, Bealls Florida, and Home Centric. Bealls had $1.93 billion in revenue in 2024 and has 14,650 employees.
