(PENNFIELD) - The losing streak is over for the Sturgis football team. The Trojans beat host Pennfield 27-8, ending their losing streak at 20 games. Prior to last night Sturgis' last win was October 13, 2023 when they beat Three Rivers 13-12. The contest was scoreless until late in the second quarter when the Trojans first found the end zone as Malachi Warner intercepted a pass and returned it 43 yards. Cristian Alvez had 28 carries for 87 yards and a TD while Beckett Lamb was 3 of 5 for 49 yards and a score. He also had 3 carries for 57 yards and another TD. Beckett Lamb also led the defense with 10 tackles while brother Hudson Lamb and Liam McKinley each had 8 tackles. Sturgis improves to 1-1 on the season.
