(COLDWATER) - A traffic stop in Coldwater led to the arrest of a man.
The Branch County Sheriff's Office made a traffic stop September 3 on Chicago Road near Sprague Street. During the stop, deputies developed information indicating the driver, 37-year-old Carl Striggow of Coldwater, may be in possession of illegal narcotics. A search of Striggow found he was in possession of suspected crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
A further search of the vehicle by deputies located additional items consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
With the help of the Coldwater Polic Department and their K-9 Unit, deputies conducted a search of Striggow's residence. During the search deputies located additional suspected meth and cocaine, along with other evidence consistent with the sale and distribution of narcotics.
Striggow was taken to the Branch County Jail on formal charges of delivering and manufacture of meth; delivery and manufacture of cocaine and being a habitual offender.
Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship commends the deputies and assisting agencies for their work on this investigation and their continued efforts to combat the distribution of illegal narcotics in Branch County.
