Bernie and Loma Hoffman Named LaGrange Citizens Of The Year

(LAGRANGE) - Two long time LaGrange County residents have received a special honor.


During Wednesday's Corn School Festival, Bernie and Loma Hoffman were named the 2026 Citizens Of The Year.


For over 70 years Bernie Hoffman has participated in various LaGrange County organizations and in local government. He was a member of the LaGrange Town Council from 1967 to 1975. He also served two different terms on the LaGrange County Council from 1976 to 1984 and again from 1989 through 2004.


Bernie also has been active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and with the LaGrange Rotary Club.


Loma Hoffman spent 35 years as an elementary school teacher. She was also a member of the Lakeland Board of Education, the LaGrange County Library Board, the LaGrange County College Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Coterie, the Philomaths, Musical LaGrange and as a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
