(COLDWATER) - The trial of a man charged in 2019 and arrested in 2024 is set to begin Tuesday.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says the trial of 48 year old Anthony Cuyler will be held in Branch County Circuit Court. He is facing three counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of delivery of methamphetamine to a minor; one count of possession of methamphetamine; and one count of possession of ammunition by a felon.
The Branch County Prosecutor's Office charged Cuyler in 2019 for alleged sexual assaults against two girls ages 11 and 12; and for allegedly providing them with methamphetamine. He fled Michigan, and evaded authorities for several years until information was received that he may be in Mexico. The U.S. Marshals Service extradited Cuyler from Mexico under the "Operation Survivor Justice" Program in March 2024. He was arrested and brought back to Michigan.
Nessel's office will prosecute this case.
