(STURGIS) – The Sturgis football team kept it close early on, but Plainwell picked up the pace and went on to beat the host Trojans 33-7 in Sturgis’ Homecoming game. Darren Speelman ran for a 59 yard touchdown for Sturgis’ lone score of the night. ...... {LISTEN}. Sturgis did force a pair of turnovers but weren’t able to convert them into points. Speelman led the ground game with 7 carries for 79 yards. Hudson Lamb had 10 tackles while Melachi Warner and Gavin Lewis each had 5.5 tackles. Sturgis is now 0-7 on the season and 0-5 in the Wolverine Conference. Plainwell is 3-4 and 1-4 in the conference.
