(NEWBURG TOWNSHIPO) – Arrests have been made in a stabbing incident and the theft of a vehicle.

Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach says deputies responded to a 911 call on Wednesday at 5:40 AM in the area of Patterson Hill Road and Mann Street in Newberg Township. When they arrived deputies found a man who said he had been riding around with two other men, one of which stabbed him and then both stole his truck.

Deputies along with officers from the Pokagon Tribal Police and the Cassopolis Police Department were able to locate the truck and arrest the two suspects.

The stabbing victim was taken by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital and is in stable condition. The incident remains under investigation.
