(BRONSON) – The City of Bronson will be flushing fire hydrants and exercising water valves.
This is being done to keep up with the practice of regular routine water main cleaning.
City Manager Brandon Mersman says the flushing will begin on Monday, October 27 at 7 AM for the eastern portion of Bronson. Then on Tuesday October 28 at 7 AM, flushing will take place for the western part of the City. If additional time is needed, then flushing will continue on Wednesday, October 29 at 7 AM.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience the flushing may cause.
On occasion, the water in the areas being flushed may temporarily have a reddish or orange rusty appearance, since the flushing can disturb iron sediment in the water pipes and cause the discoloration. If this occurs, please run your cold water at the tap closest to your water meter for several minutes to clear your lines.
The City also advises the public to refrain from doing laundry during the days the flushing will be taking place.
