(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Commissioners want to be part of future talks about relocating a casino. At Monday's meeting, a motion to continue gathering information and further discussions on the topic passed 3 to 0. Last week, a state report named DeKalb County as a potential site to relocate the Rising Star Casino, which is currently located outside of Cincinnati. President of the Board of Commissioners Wil Howard told those gathered that any nearby casino will have an impact on Steuben residents, and that learning more about the good and the bad of such a plan is important. Commissioners instructed Steuben County Economic Development Director Isaac Lee and County Tourism Bureau Executive Director June Julien to start collecting more information and report back at the next meeting. This is not the first time the idea of a local casino has been considered. KPCNews.com has more on former plans and efforts over the years to bring a casino to Steuben County.
